If your library has multiple branches, you will create an individual Branch node for each branch. This will give each branch its own page on the website.
The default LibrarySite setup shows only one branch. Blocks have already been created to showcase multiple branches instead of one, and Cherry Hill will assist you in customizing your site to use these blocks instead of the single-branch blocks. See the working with blocks section for more information about blocks.
Sample branch content
The following is an example of branch content.
Adding a branch
To add a branch to your site you must be logged in. Navigate using the black admin menu bar at the top of any page to Content > Add content > Branch (at node/add/branch).
Fields on branch content
The Branch Name field is required for branch content. The branch name will be displayed at the top of the page when it is viewed and will have semantic markup as Heading Level 1, which is important for search engines and screen readers. The name will be also used in different displays of branch information, for example on a list of all the library branches.
You may also add a Main Image to your branch. Always fill in the Alternative Text field for your images. The title field will display on hover state.
The Branch Address will be used to display the branch on a map in certain views.
The Branch Phone, Branch Contact, Branch Hours, Branch Fax, and Description fields are all self-explanatory. Remember not to add the branch address, phone number, or hours to the Description field to avoid redundancy and maintain the semantic markup that comes with using the individual fields.
The Branch Phone field will automatically link the phone number so that mobile devices can initiate a phone call when the user clicks on the number.
Remember to save!
Any content you create is temporary until you press the Save button at the bottom of the create content form.
You may also want to add content to the navigation menu or configure different publishing options before you save.
